AZ Guillermino Torres.jpgGuillermino Torres is a new citizen who was just sworn in at a ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona. She will be casting a ballot for the first time this November. As a mother and teacher Guillermino is most concerned with the education system and America's economic stability. Guillermino would like to see more emphasis placed on education and restoring the health care system. She wishes that the candidates for president would focus more on issues that affect her during the Presidential debates, such as the candidates' health care plans. She worries about the cost of daycare.

"I'm optimistic about my American citizenship, but I know that realistically it will take some time to restore our economy and reprioritize our domestic agenda. The good news is that Americans work hard and we will all make this country great again."

Guillermino is proud of her citizenship, and proud to be an American. She registered to vote within weeks of her swearing in ceremony and encouraged family members to do the same.

"I'm excited to vote for the first time because I feel part of the democratic process and I think this election offers a lot of opportunity for change. I would like to see everyone become more politically active because I think we could help rebuild many of our communities and reduce crime."
